NORMS AND GUIDELINES FOR THE SELECTION OF TEACHERS FOR NATIONAL AWARD 2013

1.National Award for the Calendar 2013 (i.e.) January 2013 December 2013 2.a. Teachers with 15 years of Teaching Experience, b. Headmasters with 20 years of Teaching Experience 3.Teachers/Headmasters working in any recognized schools are eligible. 4.Retired Teachers are not eligible but teachers who have served a part of the Calendar year 2013 at least four months {(ie) upto 30th April 2013}can be considered if they fulfill all other conditions. Service rendered on re-employment after attaining superannuation will not be reckoned as eligible service 5.Teachers whose names were recommended previously can be considered again if they are still otherwise eligible. 6.Educational Administrators and Inspectors of Education are not eligible

MAIN CONSIDERATIONS THAT SHOULD GUIDE THE SELECTION OF TEACHERS AT VARIOUS LEVELS
1.Teachers reputation in the Local Communities
2.His academic efficiency and desire for its improvement
3.His genuine interest in and love for children
4.His involvement in the Social life of the community
5.Initiatives taken by the Headmaster/ Teacher for developing infrastructure with the support of community and P.T.A.
6.Steps taken to improve the students achievement at X and XII Board Exams.
7.No Screening test for Admission
8.No Fee excess of Fee Committee fixed.
9.Tuition either within the school or outside
10.9th & 10th result to be compared with admission register, There should not be any forced transfer certificate issuance or enrolling children as private candidate.
11.Corporal punishments should not be there
12.Shall not be harsh towards children and parents.
13.All round development activities like

Sports and Games Activities
Quiz
Art
Music
Literacy – activities
14.Functions of Scouts and Guides, NSS, JRC and the No. of students awarded.
15.State and National Exams like NMMS, NTSE, Rural Talent search exam and the output.
16.Recent untoward incidents like death / injury of children in dealing children carelessly.
17.PTA –truthful PTA & HMs meetings.
18.Leave details & Service details should be scrutinized from date of entry in the service.
19.Classroom teaching assessment.
